Research areas: Precision measurements, Frequency Dependent Squeezing

About

Hi! I’m Vicky. I joined the MIT LIGO lab in Summer 2021, after completing my PhD in atomic physics at UC Berkeley. My graduate work focused on building a trapped atom interferometer, for quantum gravimetry and precision tests of fundamental physics. At MIT, I’m excited to be learning from the incredible instrumentation of gravitational wave detectors, while helping to commission the next quantum upgrade to frequency-dependent squeezing at the LIGO observatories. I’m interested in building precision experiments, exploring what interferometry and quantum mechanics can offer to improving all sorts of measurements, and overall, in learning and observing how things work from the smallest to largest scales.
