About

Wenxuan Jia is a Ph.D. candidate and Mathworks Fellow in MIT LIGO Lab supervised by Professor Matthew Evans. My research focuses on precision measurement and quantum optics. Specifically, I'm interested in experimental and theoretical problems on reducing the fundamental quantum noise of a gravitational-wave detector, for example, how to use more quanta of light (high optical power) and a different quantum state of light (frequency-dependent squeezing). Prior to joining MIT in 2019, I received B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Southern California.
